Ramona, the continuing saga
I started with a Daytona hood, seperated the skin from the frame...

Measured for trimming

and cut away the excess. Of course the bulge was too big.

A little sectioning and it fits!

Roughed in it looks like this

With a coat of body putty it looks like this

Installed it looks like this

Got some of the interior pieces vinyl dyed. I mocked some of them up to see what it would look like.

A few folks on another forum expressed the opinion that there was too much contrast on the dash. I repainted the sandwiched piece in the surround brown and used a stock bezel. The vents are removed for this shot with the intent of painting them satin black. Is this better?

well, don't shoot me but I was kinda waiting to see how it all turned out. Wasn't wild about it at first but it was growing on me. Just exercised some restraint, unlike the folks on T-M that aren't shy about telling you how to spend your own money like it was theirs.....
Regardless, it' s one heck of a project and will be one of a kind when done. very impressive.

I brought samples of the leather I'm using in to the shop to compare color match.

Not so good. May have a problem here. I have a possible solution but it means doing some work twice.

Don't know if I posted this before or not, but here is one of the seat covers I've been working on for the past..........3 or so years.

Took some work, but I got everything redone. I liked the suggestion to make the stack bezel 2 color.

I spent a little time on the console this weekend.

Now the console is nearing completion.

Not perfect, should stop when it just barely starts to smoke.

Using number/letter stamps and a propane torch, I managed to get a shift pattern on my new handle.
